Craft Mania!

I realize it's been a while since I posted anything on here, but I'm procrastinating at the moment and came up with the energy to do anything but what I should be doing. Isn't that the way it always is?! Terrible.

Lately I've been in the crafty mood. This is a birthday gift I made for my lovely sister. Her birthday hasn't happened yet but I gave it to her early because we're going camping. Which is what I'm supposed to be getting ready for.

I kind of came up with this idea on my own. But I also kind of got it from here on Etsy. Although my version is not 3 inches, it's 12x24 inches. And I stretched upholstery fabric over a wooden frame that I got from a local wholesale craft warehouse we have here. The flowers are made from silk or polyester (I really have no idea what it's made of) ribbon that I bought at the same wholesale place. You cut the ribbon, and then you hold it over a candle for a very short moment, and melt the edges so they turn up and look like curved flower petals. The melting also keeps the ribbon from fraying, so you can cut the ribbon to any shape you want! And then I stitched them down with embroidery knots.

And now we'll see if I start blogging again. I have a lot of pictures and things to blog about! I'm also working on a picnic quilt, so we'll see which takes precedence. Crafting vs blogging... hmmm Not sure!
